Asstrio va començar com el típic trio de jazz groove amb orgue hammond (Arecio Smith), guitarra (Santi Careta) i bateria (Santi Serratosa).
De mica en mica el grup ha anat incorporant elements diversos que fan difícil de classificar la seva música. Ha tocat a festivals de renom com el Sònar, el Senglar Rock, el Jazz Terrassa o al Cruïlla de Cultures.
